What Litmus does

From a wall of text
to a clear verdict.

Finds the claims

Pulls the check-worthy claims out of any text, post, article, or screenshot — you don't have to spot them yourself.

Rules on each one

Marks every claim True, False, Misleading, or Unverifiable — each with a confidence level you can weigh.

Cites real sources

Shows the actual sources behind each verdict, retrieved by live web search — not a confident guess.

Shows counter-evidence

When something is false or misleading, Litmus doesn't just flag it — it tells you what's actually true.

Topics & history

Tags every check by topic and keeps a searchable history, so you can reuse and revisit what you've verified.

Everywhere you read

Check in the app, from the share sheet in any app, or hands-free: "Hey Siri, fact-check my clipboard."

Private by design

Your reading never
passes through us.

Litmus does the heavy lifting on your device and uses your own provider key for the final verdict. We don't have servers, and we collect nothing.

  • On supported devices, claims are extracted entirely on-device with Apple Intelligence — instant, offline, and free.
  • Your API key is stored in the device Keychain and used only to talk to the provider you chose.
  • No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no ads, and no developer servers.
Before you start

Bring your own key.

Litmus uses your own API key from OpenAI or Anthropic (Claude). Add it once in Settings — your key, your usage, your control. The on-device steps are free; only the final web-searched verdict uses your provider.
